Marvellous A group of somewhat amoral characters spend part of a summer in an hotel in the South of France Very much of its time published 1933 it would be interesting to see what reception this sharply observed and compelling short novel would get if published now.

  2. Louise Culmer Louise Culmer says:

Assorted English people staying at a hotel on the Cote d Azure interact with each other in various ways Some areagreeable than others, none very memorable Only having read the Provincial Lady books by E.M Delafield until now, I had hoped forhumour than there is in this book I also wasn t expecting tragedy FeIt all seemed a bit pointless really.
