  1. Tyler Horton Tyler Horton says:

A wonderfully rich collection of English poetry As far as I can tell the collection is aimed at gathering from the recognized canon rather than introducing readers to new delights Surely those who know the field better than me will have uibbles about what did and did not make the cut The illustrations are included within the pages rather than given their own as is common in Folio Society books and I think it works uite well They are deceptively simple ink drawings Some of them look as though they could have been done with a few uick strokes but they complement the texts well and capture something of the experience of reading the poems themselves The trade off for having so much in one volume is that the size of the book makes it difficult to take along and read anywhere but your own home I do think this must be as near as anything to being the 'if you only own one book of poetry make it this one' kind of book
