Favorite uotes“I just don’t think I can do this” Ron lowered his gaze “If you don’t you will die along with Charlie your friends your animals and your family I will die as will our people He will finally destroy the one person who stands against him The one person who has the power to destroy him There will never be another you “Every time Charlie carries your pain he gets weaker Every time you feel better in Charlie’s presence he pays the price for it Is that what you want for him?” I shook my head “No” I looked at my feet as Hawke said “Don’t come back here Walk away His burden is too big to carry” I shook my head “I’m sorry I can’t do that I just can’t I love him too much”This book was given to me in exchange for an honest reviewThis was a is a story about a girl name Emme who was struggling to keep her family friends and the one man she loved and feels she will only love Charlie together Charlie lives on a reservation and loves Emme but knows that no matter how much he loves her she will not be his much longer The true uestion is will they be able to survive the evil that is after them? Or will the other evils destroy them before they can complete their destiny? At first I didn’t think I would like this story but once I started reading it I really did like it The story flowed and was easy to follow As you read you feel as if you are part of the story I am not sure I could handle being in Jack’s position sorry not telling any he has patience and sit back and watch then I could have This is a story I would like to read the next one to know what happens next The story has love sadness anger fear and tears See at

WOW That is the first thing that pops into my mind when I think of this book I did not read the first one but I will This book can be read as a stand alone That is what I really liked about this book There was enough information about events that took place in the first book that I didn't feel lost I started the book and read it until I finished it in one sitting It was that good The imagery and use of the senses puts the reader right there with the characters At one point something happened and I gasped and covered my mouth My husband heard and saw me and ran over to see if everything was okay He saw I was reading the book on my computer and said Oh it must really be good He was definitely right I loved each and everyone of the characters The book left me wondering who the evil one was Now I'll need to wait for book three in the series all I can say is hurry up with the next one I received an e book copy to help facilitate my review The thoughts expressed here are my own

The Scarring is the second book of the Spirit Warriors Series It picks up pretty much where book one The Concealing left off; which was with a cliffhanger At the risk of repeating my review of book one; book two is as repetitive and overly wordy as the first book I wanted to scream “I heard you the first THREE times you said it” It was the same in book one but I hoped it was to prepare readers for this book; it wasn’t The information was repeated again and the writing was still extremely wordy; it could have been half the length and read uickly and smoothly to be much betterThis book does not read well as a stand alone; I recommend having all the books to read at once I was offered the first three books in exchange for honest reviews I am moving ahead to the third but if there is no improvement; I will not continue with the seriesBethhttpwwwboundlessbookreviewscomhttpswwwfacebookcomBBReviews

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinionEmme and all of her friends Charlie Ollie Jack and Bets are back still grieving the loss of their friend Lily Emme has a lot to worry and be sad about than just losing a friend Charlie has told her that he is moving back to the reservation and that they cannot be together any Emme doesn't want to hear or talk about her and Charlie not being together any that they are not meant to be together She loves Charlie and she will always love him and nothing and no one will ever stop her from loving him Charlie feels the same way about Emme but he knows that they can't be togetherEmme's mom and little brother Ben have both moved to Los Angles temporarily so that Ben could be on talk shows and have someone help him to be a better musician She misses Ben and her mom very much but her and her dad are making it just find on their own at least she has her friends and her animals to help her deal with everything And now have everything else Emme's friend Bets no longer wants to be her friend she has taken to hanging out with their worst enemies Bets is hanging out with one of the cheerleaders who just happens to be a bully and was mean to Lily She is also dating Lily's brother who hurt Lily too Every time she sees Bets she tries to talk to her and be her friend but Bets won't talk to her Everyone deals with death differently and I think this is just Bets way of dealing with Lily's death She probably just can't take being around the people who reminded her the most of LilyThere is a powerful evil spirit the machayiwiw that has been a threat to Charlie's tribe for many many years Emme learns that she must fight and kill the machayiwiw she is the only one who can kill it But Emme doesn't believe that she can kill anyone even if it is an evil spirit well maybe she could if she was real mad But she learns real uick like that she can kill if someone she loves is in danger or about to be killedEmme and her dad are out riding their horses one day when they find their fence has been cut They go looking to see if they can find any clues that might tell them who cut the fence They run into some poachers and end up having to fight them Emme's dad falls off of his horse and hits his head and is knocked out Emme has to fight the poachers all by herself After the fight she learns that she can and will kill to save someone she lovesThere is no way that you can help falling in love with all of the characters in The Scarring You feel their heart ache their love their happiness or whatever it is that they feel You feel as if you have been drawn into the story with them and are running right along beside them One minute you feel all the love they have for one another and then the next minute you feel their pain and you are crying right along with them Emme Charlie Jack Ollie Bets all make you wish for friendships like theirs You want to be a part of their circleYou could read The Scarring without reading the first book The Concealing and know what is happening but I don't recommend it because then you would miss out on getting to know who and what kind of person their friend Lily was Lily was just as great of a person as any of the other characters Lily was the greatest friend with a whole lot of heartache and pain She was a very strong person who was kind and kept all her secrets to herself She never bothered anyone with her problems

How often do you read a series where the 2nd book is even better than the 1st? Seldom in my world But this novel is one D Connor is so talented as a storyteller that you are immediately brought back to the first book Even though some time had passed between ending the first and beginning this book within a few paragraphs I was back to the wonderfully created charactersIn the first book I was so impressed with the author's talent of description that I felt I could see feel smell and be a part of the story as it moved along I could watch the characters their animals and the story develop in my head in clear detail This book took me even further The characters were back and grew into even stronger individuals The teenagers became adults and you cared for them as you read Ms Connor was not afraid to let the characters be less than perfect let them make mistakes and let them grow stronger By the very last page I was pleading for and hoping the 3rd book is written soon The vivid descriptions and imaginative storytelling make me want to be a part of the story I want to go to the clearing and have a cookout go to the reservation to find myself see the herd of cattle ride the horses as fast as they'll run and generally live life as fully and honestly as the characters do I found myself cheering when the hunters were caught and crying when the characters were hurt It takes a talented author to bring you into the story and keep you involved with your emotions from first to last wordsThere are mistakes in grammar and spelling like in the first book but not enough to distract the reader or make you want to stop reading If that type of errors bother you too bad They are enough to make you reread a sentence every so often but not nearly bad enough to confuse or irritate But I do want to warn you As I said the story takes you past these errors and keeps flowing along The strength of the story and imagination of the author keeps this review at 5 starsI cannot wait to read the next in the series This is a story that lives with you after the book is finished and it calls out for Well done Ms Connor

This is the second book in the YA Spirit Warriors series set in Montana We meet the characters from the last book; Charlie and Archie descents from native American Indians Jack Ollie Bets and Em They're Charlie's friends and he and Em have a special relationship which will be tested to the coreThese children have learnt the ability to join their spirits with those of animals in a battle against the Machayiwiw an evil medicine man spirit escaped and running a muck in the world today Em has already had one close call with him at the end of the last book and nearly drowned In this book Em finds that her destiny is not with Charlie and both of them find this really hard to accept Em has her own special gifts which she must learn to control and which will help them defeat the evil Machayiwiw Others on the reservation help Em to prepare her for future battles Meanwhile the children's animals that they join spirits with are in danger from poachers and the children must move them to safety Other relationships move on too Bets no longer wants to hang out with Em and her little brother Ben goes to LA to pursue his music career taking their Mum with him and putting extra strain on Em and her DadThis is another great book from Della and it left me tingling with the spiritual tensions at the end I do think you need to read the first book in the series to fully appreciate this book and the story will continue on as well into the next book in the series The setting is beautiful and the storyline really makes it a good read

This is one of those stories which one can't help but fall in love with the characters and hopes to see them all again soonAlthough I haven't yet read the first book I had no trouble diving into the story as if it were a stand alone There's enough background information without feeling too sluggish or ruining the story line of the second bookThe writing is very smooth making it easy to read with just the right amount of description to let the reader fall into the world But it's the characters which really make this book shine The emotions feel real as Emma and Charlie struggle to accept that their destinies aren't necessarily linked to each other The author does a terrific job reeling the reader into the character's lives something which doesn't let go even after the last pageThis was an enjoyable read almost impossible to set down and hits the heart straight onI received a free copy in exchange for an honest review

I have to be honest I haven’t read the first book which I will be changing as soon as I open up some time on my schedule Reading about Emme and her friends took me to a world I absolutely loved I would have willingly stayed there longer but what to do when the book ended DEL Connor has written a story that blew my mind I have always been entranced by Native American lore so it wasn’t difficult to embrace this book So let me wipe the drool off my face from babbling on and say I heartily recommend this book is as good for the older set as is for the younger Beautifully written packed with awesomeness I cannot get enough and will definitely be putting this book at the top of my all time favorites I will be adding DE L Connor to my watched authors so I can always be on top of any new releases Many thanks to the author for allowing me to read and review this book A five star read for meReceived book in exchange for an honest review

From the first to the second Spirit warriors caught me up in a whirlwind of emotion The way that the characters matured and became even in this book had me enraptured from the first page The only reason I couldn't give this five stars is because once again the beginning was a little slow to catching me completely but because I knew it was how the author worked I kept at it If you want a good book for your teenager about friendship and love this would be it
