This book was very religious which I was not expecting I didn t know anything about the author prior to picking this up of the new shelf at the libary nor did I see anything anywhere on the cover stating the author was going to site bible verses etc I kept reading and did enjoy the last three or so chapters and especially the conclusion which basically reminds mothers that our work is very important

I stumbled across this while reorganizing my bookshelf definitely a dollar bin book from my shower or something This is not my typical read by a longshot I don t read religious books or parenting books That said, I enjoyed this one The writer is reasonable about her faith She never preaches, and I really appreciated the creative way that she and her family teach their children life lessons and faith based ideas The narrative is fast paced and enjoyable I read it in two afternoons while I stumbled across this while reorganizing my bookshelf definitely a dollar bin book from my shower or something This is not my typical read by a longshot I don t read religious books or parenting books That said, I enjoyed this one The writer is reasonable about her faith She never preaches, and I really appreciated the creative way that she and her family teach their children life lessons and faith based ideas The narrative is fast paced and enjoyable I read it in two afternoons while my daughter napped , and her sense of humor is pretty close to mine The book is filled with lots of references to the Bible to support the point she is making, and while I don t agree with every single thing she says, I found her perspective refreshing If you want something light hearted to read about motherhood, this is nice if you want something to help you teach Christianity to your children, I imagine this is fabulous if you just want something different to share some anecdotes about raising kids, this is spot on

A light, delightful, and encouraging read Bruner s anecdotes are familiar, truthful, and edifying The final chapter dealing with grief and loss carries the power of the entire book and leaves a lasting, moving impression beautifully written.A bit too much emphasis, for my taste, on a theme of the self sacrificial mother, but I believe Bruner s heart is in the right place Still worth picking up Enjoyable and inspiring.

I like the cover and the title of this book so I picked it up from the library She has really good suggestions for enjoying these hectic years This is where we got the idea for High Low Don t necessarily agree with all of her beliefs but in general, book has a great message.

Good It is from Focus on the Family I was just looking for something snarky, so it didn t meet my expectations But a good read for any frazzled mother Nice short chapters.
